Here is a new game to play. One person names a song and someone else gives the name of the group or artist that perforned that song. The first person to get the artist or group gets to name another one to answer. It can be country, rock, or any other catagory.
First one: Who was the group that did Blue Jean Baby?

Yeah... Muff I was thinking of Chicken Shack that did I'm a Loser on The Imagination Lady album (with an amazing version of Johnny & June Cash's "If I were a Carpenter")... Savoy didn't do the Loser song although Stan (of Chicken Shack) did play with them on one album/cd.
Train, Train... is that the Molly Hatchet song?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(instrumental intro)
Failure as President.
Policies that make no sense.
This fraud has no regrets.
His tax cuts inflate our debts.
Ah, but...
War powers give Bush some room
To hide his economic doom.
He's a man of means, full of beans...
King is a toad.
King Bush's right wing reign
Screwed our nation, and it's plain.
"Compassion" was a ruse.
He's still paying donor dues.
Helped by old fogies, who abound.
Worked for Daddy, still around.
He's a man of means, full of beans...
King is a toad.
Foreign leaders all just sneer at Bush's brain.
He went to Europe; their folks called him names.
This emperor has no clothes, but wears the crown.
The people mock; still mock him when he comes around.
They sing:
Failure as President.
Policies that make no sense.
This fraud has no regrets.
His tax cuts inflate our debts.
Ah, but...
War powers give Bush some room
To hide his economic doom.
He's a man of means, full of beans...

I have a couple in mind but let's start with Dr.John
IndeMom70

Yep, that's one of the two I had in mind as well. The oldest one that I know of, and the other I had in mind, is from Oscar "Papa" Celestin. If you don't mind a mini-story (everything I post seems to come with a mini-story) there's a curiousity associated with the only Celestin studio version of this song in anything better than "very rare" circulation (that I know of)... Of course, there was the jazz-blues revival of sorts in the '50s, with all these old artists starting to get noticed because comparable white artists had brought the music to the mainstream. JHB Records started a "New Orleans - Legends" LP series, Celestin's record was to be #18 on the list, but he died between studio sessions in 1954. So, as it turns out, they only got four songs recorded, Marie La Veau being one of them, but still released them on an LP with two songs per side. Anyway, he has some studio versions of songs floating around from the '20s, but even though I actively buy record estates, I haven't come across any. I'm not sure whether or not Marie La Veau is among those old recordings, but one way or the other, they're certainly in short supply. There's also a live Celestin CD from a few years back that I've picked up. I'm actually just about up to my ears in records, cassettes and CDs.

The Bad Boy Boogie that immediately comes to my mind is AC/DC's version, which had a studio release on Let There Be Rock (1977) and a live release on If You Want Blood, You've Got It (1978). When I was a teen, I played Let There Be Rock for what probably was a solid month, so their Boogie is what I thought of. A different Bad Boy Boogie is found on Motley Crue's Girls, Girls, Girls (1987) but to be honest, although I have the CD it isn't one of my favorites, so I had to look up the lyrics to make sure they weren't the same as AC/DC's. I know at least one band has a cover of AC/DC's version, and not sure about the Crue's. Let me know if I missed something.

Offhand, I'd say that "Road Rage" has been released as either an original or cover tune by over a couple dozen different artists. The most relevant version of the song, in terms of number of issues, is the one belonging to Catatonia. Let us know if you had someone else in mind, OBE.
